Kind Cycle Project
Thursdays, 1-6 pm, OPIRG Brock InfoShop, 10 Summer St.
The InfoShop will now be hosting a new project for anyone needing bike repairs (especially those who can't afford such things) on Thursdays from 1-6. The Kind Cycle project is free to those in need, and by donation if possible. If you are interested in learning about how to fix bikes, and want to help out with this project, please stop by at the InfoShop between 1-6 pm on Thursdays.

Critical Issues In Bangladesh: Niagara Volunteers for Bangladesh

Come and learn from a committed group of Niagara volunteers who work with marginalized groups in Bangladesh. Their work includes projects with ‘untouchables’, the tiger widows of the Sundarban, and water filtration projects to improve drinking water.
Free! Documentary Screening: The Enemies of Reason Part Two (Alternative Medicine)

Come down to the InfoShop for riveting film and delicious popcorn and refreshments. Film to be followed by discussion.
Previously we had shown part 1 of Richard Dawkins' The Enemies of Reason, so now we'll present the second half, which focuses on the issue of alternative medicine. In this documentary, Richard Dawkins examines the growing suspicion the public has for science based medicine. He notes that a fifth of British children are currently not immunized against measles, mumps and rubella, attributing it to fears arising from a highly controversial report linking the vaccine with autism. He also looks at homeopathy, spiritual healing, and the placebo effect. The documentary also features a confrontational interview with "spiritual guru" Deepak Chopra, who misuses scientific terms from quantum theory to provide legitimacy to his spiritual healing methods. A fascinating documentary on a controversial topic!
