Green Bins on Campus

Food for thought:

Food rotting in landfills contributes to global warming.
Food waste rotting in landfills is the second-largest source of methane emissions. (Colin Beavin, No Impact Man, 2009, 237).
Methane emissions are a major contributor to climate change.
In the Niagara Region 1/3 of all household waste is organics. (http://niagararegion.ca/living/waste/Organics.aspx)

Currently Brock composts organic waste in cafeterias but there is not a significant presence of bins for organic waste that students/faculty/staff and community members can access.

Please sign the petition to show that demand is high at Brock for green composting bins!  Click here to download the petition.
